CANDLESTICK
Candlestick Block is an 100% affordable housing project, with integrated gardens on all 7 levels of building. Agricultural spaces become a source of community enrichment that foster a sense of place and strengthening of the social fabric. Stormwater management strategies include bio-retention and green roof gardens throughout the building, integrating landscape pockets within the typology of the architecture envelope. Located adjacent San Francisco’s eastern waterfront, this neighborhood is planned and constructed at a higher elevation - at least 10’ above existing grade - for protection against future storm surges and sea level rise.
